For those who would like to add an ayurvedic approach to their retreats and trainings, we propose the south region of India, Kerala, as the optimal destination for group gatherings. Situated in the south-west coast of India, this tropical paradise enjoys a unique topography with Arabian sea.

Ayurveda is the ancient healing art combining medicine and philosophy. It is a complete naturalistic system of treatments and lifestyles to achieve the right balance of the body and mind. Original from this region of India, its equable climate and natural abundance of forests favored the growth of many medicinal plants used on the practice of this natural medicine.

Our partner Ayurvedic center offers to your participants the option of receiving Ayurvedic treatments to treat specific ailments, getting an introduction about Ayurveda or learning about specific techniques if that is their point of interest (massage, beauty, cooking, apothecary, etc). All this can be organized differently from within the same group. The ideal itinerary for these retreat programs can include some initial days prior to the Ayurvedic program experiencing a tour in the backwaters and/or tea plantations. The last days can be organized with a stay in the historical town of Fort Kochi.

The mountains of Kerala host some of the most amazing centenarian tea plantations and scenic views. The region features many outdoor sports and activities allowing contact with nature such as safaris, wildlife sanctuaries, bird watching, natural rain forests, trekking, watersports, waterfalls, two national parks and a high number of elephants. A cruise in the backwaters is an original way to explore the landscape and the daily life of people of Kerala. 650 km of coastline allows a big variety of beaches to enjoy.

Kerala has many unique art forms and cultural traditions such as distinctive classical ritual dances, martial arts, art and theater performances, puppet shows and music festivals. Influenced by travelers and traders from all over the world, Kerala architecture is directly related to its recent history of a spice trade. Churches and cathedrals, temples, forts and historical buildings can be found throughout the region.

Kerala is known as the “land of spices” with a multitude of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Kerala Cuisine is unique because of its rich trading heritage, which has blended over time with indigenous dishes while foreign ones have been adapted to local tastes. Signature dishes in Kerala typically involve a number of main ingredients such as coconut, tamarind, curry leafs and other traditional Indian spices.

We got available a big range of accommodation options and yoga studios to host your Workshops, Seminars, Retreats, Trainings and Wellness Holidays. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to get a quotation or more information at info@retreatorganizer.com
